Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the “Yachting Capital of the World” will host the 59th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from the 31st October till the 4th of November 2018. Show exhibits range from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts.
A wide variety of boats and sea vessels will be on display including runabouts, sportfishers, high performance boats, center consoles, cabin cruisers, flats boats, skiffs, express cruisers, sailing yachts, motor yachts, bowriders, catamarans, ski boats, jet boats, trawlers, inflatables, canoes, and extraordinary superyachts.

Whether you walk or drive to the Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show every morning, there’s no escape from the gorgeous USA beach view ahead of you, helping to start the day the right way. The outdoor BBQ’s, cliched lifeguard huts and big, blue waves finish the picture perfect setting for one of the States’ best Yacht shows.
This boat show has the United States’ seal of approval stamped all over it, fantastic surroundings, glorious food markets, and A LOT of very big boats! S3 (at Hilton) – Boulevard
Sun, Surf, Sand is the closest spot to the ocean across the whole of Fort Lauderdale beach, and serves delicious sharable items – ideal to wind down with a few drinks following a busy day at the show.
RUSTIC INN CRABHOUSE – Ravenswood Rd.
Waterfront dining, great cocktails and an all round relaxed and fun atmosphere. Order a big platter of the world famous garlic crab and it’s hammer time!
CASABLANCA CAFE – Alhambra St.
Casablanca Cafe is conveniently located nearby the show and exudes a great ambiance. There’s also a great terrace for you to enjoy some al fresco dining. One more thing? The seafood is divine!
VALENTINO – Federal Hwy.
This is probably one of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. Here you eat the finest Italian cuisine at the kitchen table, or at warmly dressed tables with lounging seats. Comfortable, homely and authentic. Perfect.
THASOS GREEK TAVERNA – Oakland park
Thasos is a contemporary and very trendy place serving the finest Greek dishes. In addition to great food, is an equally great wine and cocktail menu too. Opa!
NOODLES & PANINI – Las Olas
We implore you to go for the heavenly, supersize bruschetta with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil to share. Take a seat outside on their cosy terrace and take in the perfect view on Las Olas, especially during Halloween.
PRIMANTI BROTHERS – Boulevard
If you’re looking to wind down with enormous share-with-your-whole-team fresh pizzas, then look no further. Delicious and open 24/7, but much more of a grab and go kind of joint.
STEAK 964 (Hotel W) – Boulevard
Without a doubt the best seaview in town, which is unquestioningly coupled with the best steak in town. The result? A place to die for. Stay around after your meal, as this hotel has got a lot more to offer – and we’re not talking about sleeping!
ASIA BAY – Las Olas
Looking for a little more atmosphere than the average sushi bar? Eat your sushi here! A fantastic menu that will not disappoint.
ROCCO’S TACOS – Las Olas
A great place to eat some authentic Mexican food followed by a few tequilas. This place never fails to be entertaining. Just don’t try and finish the whole tequila menu…
CHIMA BRAZILIAN RESTAURANT – Las Olas
We couldn’t miss out this classic hotspot. This meat lovers paradise serves 15 types of perfect, rotisserie meats. A fantastic combination of traditional Brazilian rodizio and excellent service with an elegant setting.
HEART ROCK SUSHI – Sunrise blv.
Offering lovely sushi en sashimi, food here is served in a wooden ‘superyacht’ and is some of the freshest Japanese food in South Florida. Perfect for a quick after boatshow meal – but remember a sweater!
MARKET 17 – 17th street
A unique farm-to-table organic restaurant serving delicious and particularly creative food. The menu changes daily, allowing you to return again and again to experience something new! Remember to check out the lovely wine, beer and cocktail menus.
Drink & Dance
STACHE – 2nd Ave.
Ft Lauderdale’s premier cocktail lounge, nightclub & concert hall. Bartenders are ready to excite your senses with a signature cocktail or one of the classics. Enjoy live entertainment, burlesque/cabaret Shows, bands and DJ’s.
SWEET NECTAR – Las Olas
A local neighborhood spot where you can sit both in and outside at big community tables to enjoy handmade crafted cocktails and sharing pitchers. Also try their delicious range of food – they really nail something for everyone.
BAHIA CABANA – Seabreeze Blvd.
Conveniently located next to the show, but it’s best not to go in here still wearing your suit! Switch over to your Hawaiian shirts and you’ll fit right in.
BLUE MARTINI – Sunrise Blvd.
Blue Martini is one of those places that is always a good idea! They love to get in the holiday spirit around Halloween, with live events and every single item inside decorated to an exceptionally spooky standard.
TAP42 – South Andrews Ave.
Sick of lounging and clubbing in fancy environments? Go here, sit back, choose a beer from their extended beer menu, and finally, R-E-L-A-X.
VIBE – Las Olas
The club next to YOLO with a pretty impressive bar and always awesome DJ music. Vibe host a lot of special events and theme nights which are a lot of fun. Not to be missed!
YOLO – Las Olas
You only live once, and the next morning will definitely not count. This is a great, lively place where you’re bound to find a lot of industry people. Leave your flip flops at home as despite the name, YOLO is a bit more upmarket.

- Although you can pay with credit card everywhere, the nearest ATM machine is located in Bahia Mar hotel, All About Food (main entrance) or food court on show site.
- It is not expensive to rent a car in FL. our favourite thing to do? Get a big American to show off. Note that parking spots around and during the show are difficult to find.
- Want to be ‘tendered’ in FL? On-land and on-water taxis are all over the place and easy to find!
- Don’t lock yourself up in your stand the whole day because of the sun and mosquitoes. Make sure you take plenty of sun cream and insect repellant with you.
- Bring flip flops and a poncho to the show. FL can sometimes be unpredictable, and you may need both!
24 HOURS IN MIAMI
9:00 – 10:00
Go to Ocean Drive no. 800. Here you will find the NEWS CAFÉ (a bit touristy, but legendary nonetheless!) The best way to start the day is definitely with a nice coffee, eggs Benedict, a newspaper and taking in the awesome view on Ocean Drive. After, rent a bike at decobike.com for app. $ 25 a day.
10:00 – 11:00
Hang around on OCEAN DRIVE. Although there may be nothing more to see than impressively dressed people, expensive cars, the House of Versace and an abundance of terraces, clubs and hotels, people watching can still be very entertaining…
11:00 – 12:00
Walk or cycle south. Not in town during Art Basel Miami Beach? No problem, walk around and visit some of the finest art galleries in the States in the colorful ART DECO DISTRICT of Miami.
12:00 – 13:00
From the Art deco district, go through Espanola Way to end up on LINCOLN ROAD. This is a really great ‘hood with unique, quirky shops and cool sidewalk cafés. Have lunch at the ICE BOX CAFÉ (Purdy Ave.).
Time for some ‘me-time’. Treat yourself to a good spa. Try the one in the RITZ CARLTON. 786-276-4090. After you’re all pampered out, take some more time to relax on the beach.
Watch the sunset and enjoy a genius cocktail at the SUNSET LOUNGE in the MONDRIAN HOTEL.

Visit one of the South Beach terraces or clubs or go back to your hotel DELANO and have a drink in the ROSE BAR or night out in FDR AT DELANO. These places tend to be fairly expensive, so don’t forget your wallet!
SPARE TIME IN FORT LAUDERDALE
LA GALLERIA – luxurious shopping mall nearby the show site with shops like Victoria’s Secret, the Apple Store and Abercrombie & Fitch.
SAWGRASS – in case you still have some energy left, you can get to the worlds largest shopping mall in about 30 min drive from the show site. Tip? Print the mall map beforehand…
AVENTURA – find all the big brands in this Miami mall, which is also an approximate 30 min drive from the show.
CHEESECAKE FACTORY – you will certainly deserve this treat after a hard working boat show week. To be discovered in almost every shopping mall as well as on Las Olas – and what a discovery!
AIRBOAT RIDE EVERGLADES – if you’re feeling like exploring the area, take a 1 hour drive and you can take the airboat and experience a spectacular ride through the impressive Everglades. 888-893-4443
BEACH – a beach can be found wherever there is sand… and in Fort Lauderdale, that’s almost everywhere. Check the wind before you go – it tends to get a little bit stormy.
BOAT TRIP – rent or ask a friend for a boat and tour through the Venice of the US and see where all the celebrities live. A real touristic activity, but worth it! Alternatively, go with the water taxi tour to Miami.
